This means the surface could be sanded as little as three or as many as seven, or even more depending on your floor's condition. All nails are punched, and the nail holes are filled with putty. A minimum of 3 coats of sealer is applied. Between each coat the floor is cut back and rotary or orbital sanded. This is standard practice.
